Stephanie & Cameron – Sunset Elopement On Big Sur In California
To describe this elopement, I have to start at the end of 2019 when Cam reached out to me. He didn’t have an Instagram but made one specifically to find a wedding photographer to propose to Stephanie. After talking back and forth, he flew me from Orlando to Virginia Beach in January 2020. I hid in the brush along the beach, with a bitter cold wind whipping through the dunes. I had no idea photographing Stephanie’s proposal would eventually lead to us all in California for their private elopement. Stephanie and I fostered a friendship after her proposal. When she asked if I’d photograph their elopement, I was floored. Steph herself is an incredible photographer, so being the one to capture her own wedding day was such an honor. Early September of this year, we flew across the country. We met up in Monterey at their adorable AirBNB for getting ready photos. Despite the unexpected fog, we found the clearest spot along Big Sur for their elopement. It was private and sweet, just them and the officiant. With the slowness and stillness of an elopement, we were able to truly focus on just Steph and Cam with no other distractions. I’m overjoyed to have photographed their precious day. I’m even more thankful for my newfound friendship with Steph and Cam. Here’s a Reel of BTS and portraits from the day!
